Russell Janecka served in the US Air Force Security Service as a Russian linguist. He was educated in the Defense Language Institute and served in Berlin, Germany, earning the USAF Commendation and Occupation Medals. During and after his service, he received his business education through Victoria College and the University of Maryland European Division.

Mr. Janecka took over the family's independent insurance agency in 1986. He has earned and maintains the industry's LUTCF and CIC professional designations. As an active leader in his community, Russell has chaired the boards of the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, Victoria County United Way, Junior Achievement of Victoria, The Victoria Gabriel Project, The Victoria Ballet Theatre and the Victoria Literacy Council. Mr. Janecka led classes as a Junior Achievement mentor and enjoys providing insurance education to young adults and Habitat for Humanity of Victoria. He served ten years on the City of Victoria Planning Commission.

Mr. Janecka has served on the board of Germania Farm Mutual Insurance Association since 1987 and serves on its subsidiary boards and committees. He maintains annual certification as a Leadership Fellow for the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Farm Mutual Director Certification program.
