Paul Ehlert is a Brenham native and a graduate of Brenham High School. He is a graduate of the University of Texas and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas Law School in 1978. Ehlert practiced law in Brenham from 1978 to June 2004. He began serving as Germania’s outside corporate counsel in 1998. Ehlert joined Germania in July 2004 as Executive Vice President. In January 2005, he was appointed First Vice President, and in July 2011, he was appointed President and CEO and served in that role until May of 2022.
Ehlert was elected to the Germania Farm Mutual Board of Directors and subsidiaries in 2005. He has served as Board Chairperson since 2011.
