Laura Deutscher earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984 and Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1995. Deutscher is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Extraordinary Women on Boards (EWOB).
Deutscher serves on numerous boards. Prior to board service, Deutscher was a partner at a consulting and advisory services firm specifically for the insurance industry. She has held several senior leadership positions at risk management and financial corporations.
Deutscher was appointed to the Germania Farm Mutual Board of Directors in 2021 and serves on board committees. She obtained her Farm Mutual Director Certification from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. She was recognized as Business Insurance’s Women to Watch in 2013, 2023 Accord’s Women’s Insurance Advancement Award honoree, and Reuters’ 2024 Trailblazing Women in Insurance. She is currently serving on Business Insurance’s Women to Watch Foundation Board.
