Dwayne Herring is recently retired manager of the Herring Agency of Amarillo; and was the owner of Dwayne Herring Agency from 1977-2005. Prior to his insurance career, he worked as a Realtor in Amarillo, managed a farm & ranch retail store, worked as an insurance adjuster for Germania and measured land for the USDA. Herring is a graduate of Munday High School and studied at Vernon Regional College.
During his professional career, Herring served on church councils in Vernon and Amarillo, as a Director for the United Way and as an alderman for the village of Timbercreek Canyon.
Herring has served on the Germania Board of Directors since 1984 and has been active on its subsidiary boards and committees. In 2010, he obtained his Farm Mutual Director Certification from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, and regularly maintains his certification.
Herring and his wife have been married for 58 years and have five children, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He has retired from agency management and plans to spend more time with his expanding family to pursue his interests of traveling, fishing, metal detecting, drone flying and watching his grandchildren excel in sporting activities and achieving their goals.
Herring’s prior experience on the Board of Directors for Germania and Committees as well as his overall knowledge of Insurance, provide him with the expertise needed to offer educated input on the Board level, and to insure the continued success of Germania.
