As much as we try to take care of our Christmas and Holiday gift shopping earlier in the year (like on Black Friday and Cyber Monday) it can be easy to fall behind. Maybe you've struggled to find the time, or maybe you've scrolled through Amazon and nothing strikes you as the perfect gift. Whatever the reason, if you're in a pinch and you want to give someone something special, consider these 5 last-minute Christmas gift ideas!
Online subscriptions
It seems like everything has an online subscription these days: Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Spotify, and on and on. Maybe the person you're buying a gift for shares an account with you. Time to get them their own account! Or perhaps they're dying to catch up on all of the shows and movies you reference. Either way, you can get them started by giving them a gift card to their favorite streaming service.
But it doesn't have to be limited to video streaming platforms. You can get subscriptions to newspapers, online magazines, and video game services, too. With that amount of flexibility, you're sure to find something that they'll love (and actually use!)
Baked Treats
Do you know your way around the mixing bowl and oven? Put your talents to work! If you have some delicious recipes, freshly-baked pies, cookies, loaves of bread, and cakes can all make wonderful gifts!
Handmade jams, jellies, and pickled veggies are also great if you're not as confident with baked goods or if you have a productive garden.
Box Subscriptions
What does your giftee like? Coffee? Clothes? Cooking? Whatever it is, chances are you can find a box subscription that delivers the things they're passionate about to their doorstep! Many of them even allow the recipient to customize the deliveries based on their preferences so you don't have to worry about getting them something they don't like.
Books
Do you have a book that's made an impact on your life? Or maybe you have a particular story or novel that you'd love to get someone into. Books are simple gifts that can show a lot of thought and provide value for years to come.
But maybe your giftee isn't much for reading. That's okay! Try giving them an audiobook through a service like Audible!
Experiences
This idea can vary greatly based on what relation the recipient has to you and what they're in to. This could be something as easy as a "pass" or "coupon" for a night out on the town, but could be as big as a vacation or concert tickets. Think about the person and what they love to do, but don't often get the chance to do. Your gift is a promise to make that experience happen!
Here are just a few ideas to get you started:
- All-expenses-paid spa day
- Game of golf at their favorite course
- Tickets to their favorite sporting event or music concert
- A camping trip to their favorite campground
- Classes or lessons for a hobby they're interested in (like painting or music lessons)
- Day-trip to a new or favorite brewery or vineyard
Last-minute gifts don't have to look like they're last-minute! Regardless of what you get or who you're getting it for, a little thought goes a long way. There are great gifts that come from boxes, but the best gifts come from the heart.
From our family here at Germania to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
