Germania Insurance is doing its part in nourishing local families in need this holiday season.
As part of the 26th annual Food for Families Food Drive, Germania joined numerous community partners to donate $2,500 to benefit local food pantries during the one-day event Dec. 1 at the Washington County Expo. More than $18,000 and 16,635 pounds of food were collected in total in just 13 hours.
This is the first year the Food for Families Food Drive hosted a collection site in Washington County for food and monetary donations. All donations collected will remain within Washington County benefitting Bread Partners, Faith Mission, Prairie Hill Food Pantry, and the two mobile pantries for Burton and Washington.
This donation is a part of Germania’s Hometown Giving initiative and its effort to give back to the communities it serves. You can learn more about Germania’s support and contribution to its community by visiting www.germaniainsurance.com/about/community/hometown-giving.
