In an effort to conduct business as usual, Germania’s field staff has adapted modified work processes to keep claims moving forward while ensuring all parties involved remain healthy and safe.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Germania’s guidelines require employees who are in contact with other individuals to wear proper face coverings, practice social distancing, limit physical contact and internal inspections, wear gloves when handling documents given to policyholders, and routinely disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
Germania provides cloth coverings, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, and disposable gloves to all auto and property field adjusters to ensure they have the proper resources to maintain and healthy and safe environment. Additionally, adjusters are coached to continuously consult with their insureds to gauge their comfort level and preferences.
Germania provides a variety of virtual resources to service claims:
• Email or text photos and videos of damage to receive an estimate without the need for a physical inspection by an adjuster.
• Adjusters are equipped to videoconference (FaceTime) insureds to avoid in-person contact and can send any paper documents electronically.
“It is our top priority to ensure the health and safety of our employees and insureds," Executive Vice President and Chief Claims Officer Lance Ondrej said. "Our policyholders have been very accommodating of our modified procedures during this time, and we are very appreciative of the respect and patience we have experienced from all parties."
