Hometown Giving

Being a good corporate citizen means recognizing that your business has a role to play in the well-being of your community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, extraordinary individuals – hospital personnel, police officers, firefighters, and EMTs - did their part to keep Texas going during the pandemic. As these individuals demonstrated their commitment, we realized that there was an opportunity for us to do our part by supporting them. In April 2020, Germania launched “Hometown Giving” to show our appreciation. What started as a local initiative expanded, bringing hot meals and sweet treats to staff in Brenham, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and El Paso.

With the aid of local restaurants, Germania provided 3,671 meals and 1,606 sweet treats to 3,085 employees across the state. Not only was this a chance to provide much needed relief for these employees, it helped bring business to these local eateries, which had all been impacted by the pandemic. We're grateful that this initiative not only supported our most essential workers, but gave a much needed boost to restaurants and their employees, too.
