Crock Pot Pulled Pork
Ingredients
- 4 to 4-1⁄2 lbs. pork roast (butt or shoulder)
- 2 large onions
- 1 cup ginger ale
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 - 18 oz. barbecue sauce
Preparation
- Slice one (1) onion and place in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Place the pork roast on top of onions. Slice the second (2) onion on top of the roast. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the ginger ale over roast and onions. Cover and cook on LOW until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, 9 to 10 hours. Note: The length of time may vary according to
individual slow cookers. TIP: You may want to turn the roast over after 5 hours of cooking, so it cooks evenly.
- Remove the meat and strain and save the onions, discard all liquid. With two forks, shred the meat, discarding any remaining fat, bones or skin.
- Return the shredded meat and the onions to the crock pot, stir in the BBQ sauce. Continue to cook on LOW for 2 to 4 hours.
- ENJOY!
Servings: 10
